Fundamental of Nursing Aged Care Assessment
Question: Portray about the Fundamental of Nursing for Aged Care Assessment. Answer: 1. As indicated by me, Mr. Jack is qualified for getting government help since he is over 75 years old and lives alone without life partner. Indeed, even his child is away from him and just visits him on more than one occasion for each year and his girl, Katie visits him once a fortnight. No one is there to deal with him at home. He has tumbled down two months back and land up with serious issues in his left arm and knee and can't go to his own needs and go out from his home thus lost his certainty. Along these lines he is qualified to get government help under Home consideration bundles conspire. 2. As an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) part, I recommend that the most fitting plan for Mr. Jack is significant level network care. This kind of care is accommodated Mr. Jack under Level 4 of the home consideration bundle as it gives a more elevated level of care to the qualified individuals which was given under the rules of Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) evaluations in 2015. Besides this bundle is profoundly organized and composed methodology for the consideration of old individuals with progressively complex needs. As Mr. Jack is 75 years old with no help at home which could be served by the bundle as it gives all these help administrations required for him by aiding undertakings, for example, washing garments and pressing, cleaning the house, planting and looking after home. As he can't meet his own needs because of the injury in left arms and legs, this bundle will give individual/self-care administrations, for example, help with portability, washing and dressing for him. He is additionally unfit to go out which will be upheld by this bundle by helping him in transport as shopping, visiting wellbeing experts and social exercises. It likewise gives clinical consideration including access to facility, nursing, physiotherapy administrations which was given under Home Care Packages Program rules in 2013 2014. If necessary hearing and vision administrations ought to be given. He has lost his certainty because of his powerlessness to perform individual needs which could be overwhelmed by this bundle. This bundle is exceptionally adaptable in the strategy for care and is locally situated which suits for Mr. Jack. 3. Mr. Jack is qualified to get level 4 administrations in home consideration bundle. He needs to spend a fundamental expense of $139.02 from twentieth March 2016 to nineteenth September 2016 and this rate increments on twentieth March and twentieth September every year which was given in my matured consideration benefits in Australia in 2016. This must be paid by Mr. Jack as an essential sum. He needs to get this help as he is distant from everyone else and can't do his very own needs and play out any life exercises. Notwithstanding that he needs to pay expense contingent upon his pay called as Income-tried consideration charge. He should pay this charge just if his pay is above $25,711.40 every year which was given in Information Booklet on Fees for Home Care Packages in 2015. He can likewise guarantee for yearly and lifetime tops for the salary tried consideration expense. 4. He ought to be evaluated for physical, mental, social, monetary and otherworldly needs (Douglas, 2012). His degree of reliance on others for his own needs and how well he can deal with the errands of regular day to day existence ought to be evaluated. All the more explicitly he ought to be surveyed for the need of help with portability, individual cleanliness, and so on (Lewis, 2014). He ought to be surveyed for the need of exceptional consideration if there should be an occurrence of hearing and vision issues. In particular, the budgetary status of Mr. Jack ought to be surveyed to help him for some administration help whenever required. As he is separated from everyone else with no help, his psychosocial needs (guiding requirements) ought to be distinguished. He ought to be evaluated for clinical needs, for example, nursing care, physiotherapy as he has issues in his left arm and knee. His profound needs ought to be considered as this assumes a significant job in the mending of p eople particularly the mature age individuals. Module 2 Mrs. Kylie, 34 years of age lady is fundamentally not a socially dynamic individual. She has just barely any dear companions and invests a ton of energy with her better half. There are different psychosocial and ecological variables that have contributed most to her poor results. The mental variables incorporates unforeseen mishap, stability, absence of legitimate methods for dealing with stress, weakened self-perception, social inertia, and so on has contributed for her poor results (Douglas, 2012). Mrs. Kylie consistently preferred to keep her genuinely fit yet out of the blue she has met with an engine vehicle mishap and unfit to play out her work. It humiliates her to rely upon others for help. At present, she has no arrangement to return to her work on account of her inability and poor adapting abilities. She couldnt have the option to acknowledge and adapt to her present circumstance. She feels socially disconnected as she remains in her home and just goes through two hours on poker machines. Normally she was additionally a sharp tennis player and played routinely and some cardio tennis however know couldnt play as a result of her handicap. She is socially latent, so incapable to ventilate her issues to other people. Mrs. Kylies self-perception is upset because of the spinal line injury thus feels a lot of second rate. She has negative considerations thus will pass on social exercises. This is a genuine misfortune for her and unfit to acknowledge the current status (Lewis, 2014). She has dread, and is exceptionally discouraged with poor change. Failure in sexual action because of injury additionally influences her brain research and causes poor results. Some of the time the monetary issues likewise influence her wellbeing. Absence of inspiration additionally influences her wellbeing. These progressions builds pressure prompting poor results. The ecological factors likewise influence Mrs. Kylies result. She didn't have an excessively dynamic public activity before her physical issue yet had a couple of dear companions that she saw moderately normally. After injury, she infrequently proceeds to invest the greater part of the energy at home. She is socially latent, so incapable to ventilate her issues to other people. This absence of social help is a fundamental natural factor that has added to her poor result. 2.Mrs. Kylie had been treated under the Queensland Spinal Cord Injury Service (QSCIS) which is a state-wide rehabilitative assistance for spinal line injury patients. Its point is to enable these individuals and spur them to take an interest in life exercises and to improve the personal satisfaction. It has three assistance conveyance purposes of which the transitional Rehabilitation Program (TRP) and the Spinal Outreach Team (SPOT) are the most significant focuses as they influence the result of the patient, if not gave appropriately. As per QSCIS, TRP is a network based restoration administration gave at the hour of release from recovery focus to the home. It is likewise because of Mrs. Kylies poor adapting abilities and failure to acknowledge the truth to conquer her circumstance. It is a shared methodology including different human services experts. It incorporates administrations gave by doctors, attendants, physiotherapists, word related specialists, drug specialists, dieticians, relaxation advisor, social laborers, and analyst. They build up a system to meet the customers needs and enable them by training and backing. They advance the support of customer in their necessities by defeating the mental and natural hindrances and help them to continue their life objectives. SPOT helps the spinal line injury people to partake in their jobs by medical attendants, word related specialist, physiotherapist and social laborers. They help to decrease the effect of psychosocial and natural factors on individuals influenced by spinal line injury through interview and instruction which was given in QSCIS administrations. In 2002, I was searching for another profession following eight years as a secondary school French instructor, and wanting to discover a work-from-home employment utilizing my language aptitudes. I recollected an interpretation temporary position that I had done in school, and recalled the amount I had appreciated it.At the time, I had practically no information on the interpretation business nor any activity contacts, so I began by calling each organization recorded under Translators and Interpreters in the nearby business repository. Throughout the following barely any months I got engaged with my nearby interpreters affiliation, the American Translators Association (ATA), and started getting a few calls for interpretation work. A year and about 400 continues later, I breezed through the ATA confirmation test in French to English interpretation, and my business kept on developing, while as yet permitting me to telecommute on an adaptable timetable, procuring a sound salary and investing lenty of energy with my family. In spite of the fact that I burned through a large portion of that first year showcasing my youngster business, the exertion paid off; after three

Ambassador Susan Rice wants you to become a public servant COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog
Ambassador Susan Rice wants you to become a public servant COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY - SIPA Admissions Blog Theres nothing more rewarding than choosing a career in public service, says Ambassador Susan E. Rice, National Security Advisor to President Barack Obama. I honestly agree with that sentiment; and I am sure many of you do, too. Ambassador Rice made the comment in a promotional video for The White House last week. The video encourages Americans to consider careers in public service, specifically in national security and international affairs. Heres an excerpt from her accompanying letter: If you care about the world and want to help shape a better future for us all, there is nothing more rewarding than choosing a career in public service. You can directly contribute to keeping our country strong and safe. As a public servant, every day brings new and different challenges. The work is hard, but nothing is more gratifying than knowing youâve made a difference in the worldthat youâve helped make someoneâs life just a little bit better. Read the rest here. While Ambassador Rice addresses Americans in the video and letter, the call to serve may be applied to anyone interested in working in public service. Speaking of public service (*cough, cough*), SIPA can definitely help you fulfill that goal, as our degree programs offer courses in development, foreign policy and security policy, which are all taught by leaders in their respective fields. Among the MIA and MPA degree programs, students focus their education in one of six degree concentrations (or majors): Economic and Political Development; Energy and Environment; Human Rights Humanitarian Policy; International Finance and Economic Policy; International Security Policy; or Urban and Social Policy. Upon graduation, our Seeple implement what they learned in the classroom in the next steps of their careers. More than 87 percent and 89 percent of MIA and MPA graduates, respectively, were employed upon graduation in 2014, the latest data available. In the public sector, they found jobs working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Indonesia, Japan, and Singapore, the French Army, Hawaii State Legislature, Department of Justice, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, U.S. Department of Defense, European Central Bank, United Nations Childrens Fund, World Bank Group, and the list just goes on an on. Thats why its a challenge to respond when someone asks me what type of jobs are available to our graduates. As this snippet of an employer list suggests, the opportunities are all across the globe (and in every job sector!). So even if you dont think public service is the right career path for you, you can feel confident knowing that if you work hard you can earn the post-grad job of your dreams. Its cheesy, I know, but that doesnt make it any less true. Where do you hope to end up after SIPA? Tell me about your career plans in your application of admission, which is due on Feb. 5, 2016. I look forward to reading all about it. [Featured photo courtesy of IREX, Flickr | (CC BY-NC-ND 2.0) Presidential Summit for the Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. Social Psychology How The Thoughts, Feelings And...
Social psychology is the scientific attempt to explain how the thoughts, feelings and behaviors of individuals are influenced with the presence or implied presence of others. This classic definition of social psychology expresses that people are influenced by other people to do things they would not normally do if alone. For example, a person may be more encouraged to do strange things if others are doing it as well. Stage hypnotism is a form of entertainment found in parties and other social events. In stage hypnotism, a group of people are allegedly under the control of a hypnotist who has put them in an alleged trance. In this ââ¬Å"trance-likeâ⬠state, this group of people are more suggestible to perform for the audience. This is due in part of the gradual increase of the requests, peer pressure, and compliance. During the final weeks of my senior year in High School, my class was heavily encouraged to participate in a show. Under the constitution, every American has the right of free speech, but does free speech matter if no one can hear it? ââ¬Å"Free Speech for saleâ⬠reveals the painful truth that free speech, and the certainty that one will be heard, is guaranteed only to those who can afford it. Life is Beautiful A Summary Free Essays
In the movie ââ¬Å"Life is Beautifulâ⬠, Guido, the Jewish- Italian, is the protagonist of the film. The whole movie spirals around him at all times. In the second part of the movie, Guido and his son were obliged to board the death train that packed likes sardines towards the concentration camp. We will write a custom essay sample on Life is Beautiful: A Summary or any similar topic only for you Order Now Guido clearly knew that once they had disembarked from the train, there will be hardly any chance for them to return to where they belonged. Since Guido and his son, Giosue, stepped onto the train, not only they journeyed into the concentration camp they also voyaged into mountains of white lies which lied deep in the wonderful fantasies. In my opinion, I think that Guido made a right decision in lying to his son that the Holocaust events were a just a game. There are many reasons that Guido was right about in concealing the truth over his sonââ¬â¢s eyes. One of which is because his son, Giosue, did not have to be exposed to the unfair reality at such young age. The exposure to the cruel reality would only tarnish his childhood. It will be a heavy encumbrance for Giosue to live through his childhood under the scornful and mocking eyes of the so-called superior Italians knowing that just due to the fact that he is a Jewish people.Like any other parents, Guido was no different in protecting his son from the ruthless and unwanted veracity. It is obvious in the movie that Guido made no effort in showing his love for Giosue while in the concentration camp. From hiding the truth about the Holocaust events to sharing his hard-earned portion of food with his son, Giosue was showered bountifully with paternal loves. Guido kept telling Giosue that they were in a game, a real-life competition which the winner would be rewarded a real tank. Guido managed to keep Giosue in awes because he knew that tank was Giosueââ¬â¢s favourite toy.By creating wonderful fantasies over the hopeless situation, Guido swallowed down every moment of bitterness in exchange of his sonââ¬â¢s ecstasy of becoming the winner of the ââ¬Å"gameâ⬠. This way of concealment revealed that Guido loved his son very much. Even in a harsh and hapless condition, Guido still managed to flash his smile to reassure his son that they were the top contender to earn the reward. Obviously, he never wanted a single bit of cruelty and unfairness to corrupt Giosueââ¬â¢s childhood. In other word, he wanted Giosue to be like other hildren, relishing his childhood with bundles of toys and stacks of joyfulness. Indeed, Guido had to mask the truth for the sake of Giosueââ¬â¢s future. By telling Giosue that the Holocaust events were just a game, Guido gave Giosue the might to survive through the inhuman treatments in the concentration camp. In the meantime, thinking deeply, Guido also instilled discipline and perseverance into Giosueââ¬â¢s little mind. By creating rules for the ââ¬Å"competitionâ⬠, Guido was actually training Giosue to be disciplined and meticulous in order to win the ââ¬Å"first prizeâ⬠.Guido made titanic sacrifices behind all of his lies about the concentration camps. Even with the gun pointing at him from behind, his cheeky antic ââ¬âmarching comforted and lightened up Giosue. Till the end, his walls of white lies and machinations shielded his son from the cruel reality. Guido died with his wondrous fiction without having to fret over the future of Giosue as his life and the lessons he had learned were very real. Is that right for Guido to tell his son that the Holocaust events were just merely a game? I certainly think that Guido was respectable and undoubtedly right in plotting his moves. He moulded his seamless imagination and full-heart-content love into amazing fantasies to shelter his son and protect his sonââ¬â¢s future. It is what all great parents will do. In the movie, Guido used his vast imagination to make the best out of the wicked fate of him and his family. Guido was a downright optimistic and creative person. He made good use of the situation and events to show his imagination which often leads into bursts of laughter. Guido created fictitious world for those around him, especially his wife, Dora and his son, Giosue. He always referred Dora as ââ¬Å"princessâ⬠and claimed to be a prince himself. When Guido mounted on a horse to rescue Dora, he was in fact entertaining the fantasy of the knight rescuing the damsel in distress. Nevertheless, he was literally saving her from her surroundings and actually was whisking her away on a horse. Although they both knew the truth, they were willing to entertain the fantasy and play the game. In this way, Guido formed a way for him to cope with reality and impregnated it with beauty and wild fantasy. Guido also cultivated several coincidences so that he could appear to have controlled fate and performed trick. He was not delighting in fraud or deception, he actually enjoyed creating another world of wonders for someone else. This accentuates the idea that a personââ¬â¢s perception is essential and fundamental to his manipulations and hence he affects how they handle the rest of the world. Guidoââ¬â¢s perfect life was brought to a halt when he and his family were forced to board the one-way train, however his creativity and imagination were never cease to exist. Guidoââ¬â¢s imagination not only aided him in winning Doraââ¬â¢s hands over her fiance as well as shielded his son, Giosue from the spears of discriminatory treatments. When Guido told Giosue that everything in the concentration camp was just a game, he was creating a fiction, in other words ââ¬âlies, to keep Giosueââ¬â¢s spirits up. Although his fiction seemed exaggerated, he aimed to protect his son fro m the wicked reality. At end of the film, Giosue had survived the concentration camp with perseverance and courage. Eventually, Giosue claimed his first prize, a ride on the real tank. In the movie ââ¬Å"Life is Beautifulâ⬠, fantasy is truly believed can become reality. Installing and configuring Windows Server
Question: Discuss about the Installing and configuring Windows Server. Answer: Introduction Before starting with the reasons for using IPv6 (IP Version six) to resolve the addressing issues, everyone should surely know, more significantly that why the modification from IPv4 to IPv6 is important? Nowadays, the internet is developing quickly and growing with a high speed. IPv4 addresses are very limited and only a limited number of this version is allocated, and as everyone speaks, resources are decreasing day by day. Presently, technology is rising, types and number of devices which requires connectivity to the web or the internet will surely increase. With Personal PCs being the widely recognized gadget utilizing the Internet address, and very smart gadgets, for example, the tablets, PDAs, pagers, and PCs in auto-motives requires a greater amount of addresses, so the requirement for more Internet Protocol addresses is expanding dramatically. The major Internet organizations, as well as the technical groups, have been convinced of the importance of using IPv6. Therefore, thi s study includes the reasons for utilizing IPv6. Reasons for Utilizing IPv6 The Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) services were accessible since 1999, however, it was authoritatively re-launched in 2012, June. It almost took thirteen years to be completely stable. The advantages of IPv6 are far-reaching and tremendous, however, not really for instant payback. Similarly, just like the Internet itself was almost twenty years old, when a large number of people had laughed at the thought of investing in the technology at some level but nowadays everyone knows that the Internet is regarded as an essential part. The Internet is right now experiencing a significant and complex relocation to the IPv6, which definitely prompt to long-term, worldwide and individual advantages (Academy, 2013). The Microsoft organization switched to the full Internet Protocol Version 6 on its inner system and utilize IPv4 only for the edge connections, while the association T-Mobile has moved completely to the IPv6 and utilize tunnels to convey any type of IPv4 traffic. Many research o rganizations, for instance, CERNET, as well as AARNET, were early promoters and adopters of IPv6, along with the protocol's value to many researchers in computing, and the networks are increasing and long-standing. However, every new technology has some issues and the main problem with the IPv6 is that all the Internet services are presently using IPv4. Therefore, moving to the new version which is IPv6 become very difficult for many organizations. There are lots of things that organizations or users need to do or think before they choose to move to IPv6 (Hartpence, 2011). The basic issue with the Internet Protocol Version 6 is that it is not instantly compatible with the IPv4. More components are needed to empower IPv6-IPv4 correspondence, including an extra level of ramification over the internet protocol move. The organizations must develop their sites, emails, web applications which are good with IPv6. This is the reason why organizations and many users have not adopted IPv6. Un fortunately, several end-user organizations have slowed down and are far behind to adopt IPv6. The complete advantage of IPv6 to a particular organization will change as indicated by its necessities, size, as well as its structure, however, innovative organizations will accomplish cost investment through more effective and safe networks. Another vital advantage for IPv6-skilled endeavors will be improved communications with exchanging stakeholders, particularly in India and China. This is the reason that the Unites States, with five percent of the total population, has been allotted thirty-six percent of IPv4 addresses, however, India and China, with thirty-six percent of the total populace between them, have just eight percent of the IPv4 addresses. IPv6 permits new ways to deal with the Internet networking administration, for instance, effectiveness of traffic, security, quality of different services, and portability. The profitable components include: Mandated Safety: IPv6 can easily run throughout encryption as well as integrity-assessment, with the support of IPv6, compulsory in IPv6. At the point when utilized with an appropriate key framework, IPv6 gives header augmentations that permit encryption confirmation. IPv6 likewise supports more protected name determination with the SEND Protocol, to empower cryptographic affirmation of the host's identity (Graziani, 2015). Address Abundance: The header format of the IPv4 packets limits the number of the possible addresses for Internet devices to 4.3 billion, already inadequate for the multitude of devices now worldwide networked. IPv6 increased the address field size to permit a vastly larger number of addresses, i.e., 3.4 x 1038. Transparency Throughout: IPv6's limitless address space implies direct hub-to-hub addressing, amended for security and performance. IPv6 totally remove the requirement for stopgap preservation procedures, for example, numerous levels of the NATs, which moderate connectivity, obstruct troubleshooting and anticipate tracing of prohibited activities. Simpler Management: IPv6 networks are flatter, easier, and have more sensible structures, which prompts to adaptability, scalability, and the general economy. The addresses can be designed by hosts mechanically without manual mediation, distributed by means of DHCPv6 servers, and statically addressed as needed (Hartpence, 2011). Business Continuity Require IPv6 The network is currently fundamental to the suitability of general endeavors. The administration should be aware of the issues that will affect the service conveyance as well as the bottom line, along with the IPv4, depletion is a genuine risk that will protect organizations from essentially growing networks and taking competitive benefits of new elements. Tragically, a few levels of administration expel IPv6 as a specialized overhaul with no business significance, in spite of its significance, it is not promoted properly from a long time. Any reason for keeping away from IPv6 is progressively unstable, particularly, because of administrative selection world-wide, and not following up the knowledge which influences the business congruity is a disregard of corporate obligations. Future with the IPv6 The IPv6 has various APIs to empower IPv6 communication. The engineers can utilize these APIs to compose lines of code that will assist both IPv4 as well as IPv6 communication. Based on the setup of the present hub and the name of the framework, the APIs will figure out whether to utilize IPv6 or IPv4 for communication. As the greater part of them is IP adaptation free, the designers can empower straightforward IPv6 communication. The most widely recognized API and basic Socket API underpins both IPv4 as well as IPv6 and henceforth, called a double stack interface. When the application has been moved up to IPv6 attachment interface, no separate code is needed to instigate the communication with both protocols (Hartpence, 2011). IPv6 is necessary IPv6 utilizes128-bit of addresses and is fit for 340 million possible IP addresses. Many organizations believe that most gadgets associated with the Internet nowadays are not good with IPv6, and the double stack innovation guarantees that the legacy IPv4 gadgets will still function for a foreseeable future. The organizations need to believe that the IPv6 is usable and ensure that their future PCs, mobile devices, and other IT purchases, support the upcoming era protocol. The web has detonated with the development of cell phones that want to connect with the web and with IPv6, it will oblige this development. Since IPv6 is based on a comparable auxiliary outline, a dominant part of the operational TLP that work inside the IPv4 convention will likewise work with IPv6 convention. Many application layer conventions are relied upon to have the capacity to work with IPv6 too, however, there are special cases, most outstandingly FTP. FTP utilizes installed network layer IP addresses to enco urage information transmission. With the exhaustion of IPv4 addresses, the advancement of the IPv6 will expand the address space accessibility, permitting for a practically boundless number of extraordinary IP addresses. IPv6 gives interoperability and in addition, versatile capacities which are as of now broadly installed in the network gadgets. IPv6 is incorporated with the IPv6 convention used with an appropriate key framework. The coordinate addressing is conceivable because of the inconceivable address space - the requirement for system address interpretation gadgets is viable eliminated with the help of IPv6 (Sheppard, 2014). Advantages of using IPv6 Forestall Increased Costs: The organizations should go through the additional investment to adapt to the shortage of the IPv4 addresses, wherever it is, whether in workarounds, purchasing networking gear or in attempting to purchase many IPv4 addresses. The truth is that IPv4 is costlier if companies do not have any plan, then IPv6 is the best option (Graziani, 2015). Forestall Disruption to the Sites: Businesses which never focus on IPv6 move, and do not begin to find a way to start this procedure now, will surely risk accessibility issues of its sites as well as other Internet-associated areas and administrations. For example, McKinsey Global Association Internet matters the report and claimed that Seventy-five percent of the financial esteem produced with the help of the Internet benefits. The traditional industries, and non-Internet based endeavors, demonstrating this could introduce a huge interruption to their businesses on a more extensive level. Development of Organizations Global Business based on it: A few parts of the entire world are totally out of fresh IPv4 addresses, considering rising economies which are encountering the most monetary development. The utilization of IPv6 will shortly be a necessity for organizations hoping to take advantage of these for growth opportunities. IPv6 will shortly be a prerequisite for government offices too, since a mandate in 2010 needs every elected site and e-taxpayer driven organizations to support the IPv6 on their open confronting Web benefits by 2012, September. This order reaches out to all interior, operational networks by 2014, September (Choi Chung, 2010). Abstain from decreasing experience for customers and access supply chains: If IPv6 move happens, obviously, most clients won't see any adjustment in their Internet utilization s, and however, for those who are still working on the IPv4 will surely have a decreased experience. Prepared to Deploy: The Internet Protocol Version 6 has been in the development for a long time. The introductory work in the upcoming era of the Internet Protocol started in the year 1992 and in 2011, thousands of sites all over the world, including Facebook, Yahoo, and Google empowered IPv6 for Twenty-four hours in the support of 'World IPv6 Day. Presently, IPv6 is prepared to be propelled for expansive reception and perpetual enablement in June 2012. Almost 1,500 organizations including sites, ISPs as well as switch sellers are committed to creating IPv6 for all time 'by default' for their items and services (Kim, 2011). Conclusion IPv6 is nowhere, and accessible to many networks. It is completely up to the network administrator of the organizations today to convey the innovative protocol standard. They should know about the migration expenses, as for how and when to do this migration. This study concludes that for the organizations which have already invested in networks, waiting for the enhancement and up gradation would be recommended to execute IPv6. The organizations thinking for investing into the network infrastructure, this might be a perfect time for them. This report has summarized that the IPv6 protocol, its advantages, and its future should be considered before moving to IPv6. IPv6 is about to enter into another age of the Internet. It significantly expands the IP addresses and enables more economical routing and the economical usage of the current hardware as well as the ability to assist current networking thought, for instance, mobility. A Nightmare World free essay sample
They were all I could see as I stared at the lit cigarette igniting the beginning of my death. The pain of burning streaked across my foot as I rose into the air and violently stamped my feet to end the brutal agony. The conflagration rose high above the window, to give me a glimpse of the azure blue sky outside and the rest of the world that had no idea of my imminent death or the flames that would eventually destroy the whole town. The fire was almost mocking me, as it let me see only a tiny fragment of the window and the outside where I was so desperate to be. The inferno raged and made that sickening noise as it burned my possessions and swallowed them like it was about to swallow me. I realized that my only escape was to exit the room and hope that the fire had not spread. Indeed it had spread and the choking taste of smoke filled my lungs as I coughed aggressively into my duvet. I felt as if everything inside of me was slowly making its way up my neck and out of me, as I coughed once more for my life. I looked out at my beautiful garden, completely untouched by the mass destruction. The beautiful roses lay amongst the verdant grass as I inhaled the last gasp of clear air. In the distance, I saw children playing jubilantly with a football, and that clogged me up with envy. I wanted to scream at them, yet they could never hear my cries and they could never save me from the torment I was suffering from. I banged on the remaining window that had not been ruined in the wreckage, yet still my rage was not to be heard. I repeated the same words ââ¬Å"Helpâ⬠over and over again until they were permanently etched into my brain and I felt myself repeating them without meaning to. Yet still, no one heard my desperate cries and no one felt my searing pain. I looked out at my corridor and at the waves of fire that took over my sea of stairs and bookcases. I stared deeply into the flames and not only did I feel like everything I had was washed away, but my life along with it. I crept furtively down the stairs, almost waiting for another body of orange death to try and wipe me out. However, I remained strong, dodging all that crossed my path and then I saw my wonderful kitchen, killed by the cigarette I left lit. My china set of cups smashed on the floor, and my wooden table slowly blackening amidst the destruction. I sat for minutes watching everything I had slowly disintegrate at the hands of my stupidity. The pictures of all my family, that I so sadly lost contact with and who will never know that I perished. I stared at the front door, completely surrounded by flames that were stopping me from disembarking from the nightmare. I made a burst through the flames, as an attempt to save myself but I too joined the long list of things that the fire had destroyed. The pain took over my body and I attempted to scream but to no avail. I felt my life slowly turn blank and I took my last look at life on earth. My ceiling was black as hell, and ash streamed off of it, like the sweat that poured down my face , while the heat continued to diffuse around my once perfect house. I felt like I was there for an eternity as I could see the blue sky turn into a star studded, pitch black one. Suddenly, the door slammed open and the sudden jolt of red fireman outfits filled my view. Ironically, that was the last thing I saw before I closed my eyes forever. However, at least I was out of that nightmare world.

THe 1960s Essays - Counterculture Of The 1960s, Free Essays
THe 1960s Essays - Counterculture Of The 1960s, Free Essays THe 1960's Many social changes that were addressed in the 1960s are still the issues being confronted today. the '60s was a decade of social and political upheaval. in spite of all the turmoil, there were some positive results: the civil rights revolution, john f. Kennedy's bold vision of a new frontier, and the breathtaking advances in space, helped bring about progress and prosperity. however, much was negative: student and anti-war protest movements, political assassinations, and ghetto riots excited american people and resulted in lack of respect for authority and the law. The decade began under the shadow of the cold war with the soviet union, which was aggravated by the u-2 incident, the berlin wall, and the cuban missile crisis, along with the space race with the ussr. The decade ended under the shadow of the viet nam war, which deeply divided americans and their allies and damaged the country's self-confidence and sense of purpose. Even if you weren't alive during the '60s, you know what they meant when they said, "tune in, turn on, drop out." you know why the nation celebrates Martin luther king, jr.'s birthday. all of the social issues are reflected in today's society: the civil rights movement, the student movement, space exploration, the sexual revolution, the environment, medicine and health, and fun and fashion. The Civil Rights Movement The momentum of the previous decade's civil rights gains led by rev. Martin luther king, jr. carried over into the 1960s. but for most blacks, the tangible results were minimal. only a minuscule percentage of black children actually attended integrated schools, and in the south, "jim crow" practices barred blacks from jobs and public places. New groups and goals were formed, new tactics devised, to push forward for full equality. as often as not, white resistance resulted in violence. this violence spilled across tv screens nationwide. the average, neutral american, after seeing his/her tv screen, turned into a civil rights supporter. Black unity and white support continued to grow. in 1962, with the first large-scale public protest against racial discrimination, rev. Martin luther king, jr. Gave a dramatic and inspirational speech in washington, d.c. After a long march of thousands to the capital. the possibility of riot and bloodshed was always there, but the marchers took that chance so that they could accept the responsibilities of first class citizens. "the negro," King said in this speech, "lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity and finds himself an exile in his own land." King continued stolidly: "it would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment and to underestimate the determination of the negro. this sweltering summer of the negro's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality." when King came to the end of his prepared text, he swept right on into an exhibition of impromptu oratory that was catching, dramatic, and inspirational. "I have a dream," King cried out. the crowd began cheering, but king, never pausing, brought silence as he continued, "i have a dream that one day on the red hills of georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood." "I have a dream," he went on, relentlessly shouting down the thunderous swell of applause, "that even the state of mississippi, a state sweltering with people's injustices, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. i have dream," cried King for the last time, "that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Everyone agreed the march was a success and they wanted action now! but, now! remained a long way off. president kennedy was never able to mobilize sufficient support to pass a civil rights bill with teeth over the opposition of segregationist southern members of congress. but after his assassination, president johnson, drawing on the kennedy legacy and on the press coverage of civil rights marches and protests, succeeded where kennedy had failed. However, by the summer of 1964, the black revolution had created its own crisis of disappointed expectations. rioting by urban blacks was to be a feature of every "long, hot, summer" of the mid-1960s. In 1965, King and other black leaders wanted to push beyond social integration, now guaranteed

How is Let America be America applicable to today's America Essay
How is Let America be America applicable to today's America - Essay Example He is saddened that America has lost it way and says that he never felt true freedom in the USA. He appeals to the reader and indeed the general public at large that they should work to bring back America to the status of the leader of the free world. This poem was written in 1935 in the Great Depression Era (Rampersad, 4) but is relevant even today. Explanation This selection consists of two stanzas. In the first stanza (Hughes, 725) the poet says that the USA should revert to the ideal of being a dream fulfilled, as the leader of the free world. Just like the part of mankind searching for freedom from oppression, America should be a pioneer in ensuring that people enjoy freedom from oppression and enjoy civil liberties as their basic right, across the civilized world. This is a democratic ideal and America has been known to champion the cause of democracy across the world in the present times. It regards democracy to be the best system of Government because the people elect their o wn representatives who then are entrusted with the duty of serving the people in the most effective and efficient manner.

Strong and weak states Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Strong and weak states - Essay Example Current paper focuses on the presentation and the explanation of the differences between strong and weak states ââ¬â as these differences are highlighted in the relevant literature. Emphasis is given on both the characteristics of strong and weak states and the reasons for the existing differences between the above types of states. The understanding of the criteria and the reasons for the categorization of states to strong and weak could help to explain the format of relationships among states in the context of international community. More specifically, strong states are most likely to show their power in influencing key international policies by intervening in the political, social and economic decisions of the weak states (Nelson et al. 2002). Moreover, the presentation of the causes for the differences between strong and weak states would help to identify the strategies that would help inequality in the global politics to be effectively controlled. 2. Strong and weak states à ¢â¬â characteristics and differences In the context of the international community, two different major types of states can be identified: a) the states which are strongly centralized and where the social needs are effectively addressed using appropriate economic (for instance, the industrialization) and political schemes; these states can be characterized as strong (Migdal 2001), b) on the other hand, there are those states where the government is not able to monitor the social and the economic changes developed across the national territory; these are the weak states where changes in society and economy are inevitable under the pressure of ââ¬Ëuncontrollable forces coming from large powers and the world economyââ¬â¢ (Migdal 2001, p.58). In practice, a series of different criteria can be used in order to decide whether a particular state should be characterized as a strong or weak. For instance, in the study of Kopstein et al (2005) it is noted that the autonomy of a state in developing its own decisions on issues that are key for its existence and development should be considered as the key criterion for characterizing the specific state as strong. In other words, strong states are characterized by the ability of their leaders to make clear their preferences on the stateââ¬â¢s priorities and initiatives ââ¬â both in the short and the long term (Kopstein et al 2005). Moreover, capacity should be regarded as another key criterion for characterizing a state as strong; capacity in this case, as the term is used in the study of Kopstein et al (2005), is related to the existence of adequate resources for the development of the various plans of the state. Reference is made not just to financial resources, i.e. the funds available for the realization of the governmental plans, but also to the social resources, i.e. the people who are willing and capable of supporting the relevant initiatives (Kopstein et al. 2005). As for the weak states, it can be c oncluded ââ¬â referring to the issues highlighted in the study of Kopstein et al. (2005) ââ¬â that these states are expected to have limited autonomy and capacity, as these two terms were explained above. However, at this point, the following issue should be highlighted: the level of autonomy and capacity of a state cannot be always clearly identified. Even if many indications exist that show a high

Gene Therapy In Genetic Engineering Applications
Gene Therapy In Genetic Engineering Applications Gene therapy is one of the applications of the genetic engineering. It is a technique which correcting defective gene that is responsible for disease development (cited Safdar, 2010). Gene therapy also involves the addition of healthy and functional copy of the faulty gene into the target cells of the body. Gene therapy generally works by inserting a normal gene into the genome to replace an abnormal gene in the target cells. There are two types of gene therapy. Firstly, germ line gene therapy which involves modification of genetic material in the gamete cells that would be heritable and can be pass through to the next generation. Secondly, somatic gene therapy which involves insertion of therapeutic gene into somatic cells of the patient that only effect to the individual patient only and will not be inherited by patients offspring.( cited in Ten Tailed Fox, 2009). Various genetic disorder diseases commonly are caused by faulty genes. With gene therapy, instead of treating the symptoms of the disease, treatment also target and correct the underlying cause of disease and eventually improve the faulty genes to normal genes. One of the genetic diseases that apply gene therapy as alternative treatment is Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the most well-known hereditary lethal diseases. A study conducted by UK Cystic fibrosis Gene Therapy Consortium (UK CFGTC) stated that approximately, 50 000 people and 1 in 2500 newborns around the world are affected. CF is an autosomal recessive disorder which caused by the mutation of Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) protein that leads to abnormally thick secretion of mucus. The organs most affected by CF are the lungs, gut, pancreases, liver and reproductive tract, but lung infection is the most serious affected by CF. (cited in Metharom, 1997). Continuous inflammation, damaged lungs and respiratory failure are results of repeated cycles of infection that may leads to death. With the development of effective treatment to overcome CF, gene therapy was introduced by scientist in 1990 which promises new opportunity for CF patients to have a better and long life span. This gene therapy involves replacing the detective CFTR gene with the normal one in the affected cells. As the results, the functional CFTR are being produced in all target cells and the CFTR gene will then conducts the production of normal CFTR protein which acts as a medium that allows releasing chloride and other ions. But this is opposite with people who have CF, where CFTR protein is detective and the cells do not discharge chloride ions. Although, gene therapy has the capability in treating CF, it still faces with various issues. This report consists of history of CF gene therapy and genetic techniques of gene therapy on CF. Research findings also include the advantages and disadvantages of using gene therapy in treating CF. 2.0 BACKGROUND GENETIC Gene therapy has shows that much positive feedback in treating genetic diseases although there are many failures happened. Gene therapy for CF first discovered in 1990 when scientist treated defective CFTR successfully and they added the normal copies of the gene to laboratory cell structures. The first experimental CF gene therapy treatment was given to CFs patient in 1993 (cited in Schoenstadt, 2009). The table below shows the major events that occurred due to development of gene therapy in treating Cystic Fibrosis. 3.0 GENETIC TECHNIQUES In gene therapies, there are three main techniques that are being used in treating diseases. The first is Gene addition, in which the genetic material is added to the target cells with no attempt to incorporate it into chromosomes. Second one is techniques of gene repair that replace abnormal segments of DNA in defective genes in their normal chromosomal site. The last one is Gene replacement techniques which allow deletion of the abnormal gene from its chromosome and replacement with a normal gene. (cited in Sade RM, Khushf G., 1998). In order to treat CF, the common technique used is Gene replacement by using vector. Vector is a DNA molecule (virus) act as a medium to transfer foreign genetic material into another cell. Instead of introducing new genetic material into target cells vectors are also agents to which new genetic material is attached. Diagram below shows the working of a virus acts a vector in gene therapy. First step to do is designing a vector by modifying the gene of the virus. We need to remove the rep gene which codes for proteins that responsible for viral replication as well as cap gene, which codes for capsid structural proteins. Then, we insert the normal CFTR gene in the virus. Second step is producing the virus. After inserting the CFTR gene in the virus, we transfer the vector into a packaging cell line so that the vector will combine with protein needed to assemble the virus. Next, we collect the virus sample from the growth medium and add into the Petri dish containing the CF cells. The virus give effect to the cell as it integrates the DNA into specific location on chromosome 19. Last step, we transfer the vector into CF patient. CFTR gene in the cell will transcribe into mRNA and this induces the cell to produce normal CFTR protein in the target cells. Diagram below show the mechanism of vector in treating Cystic Fibrosis. 4.0 SOCIAL ISSUES In recent years, many types of techniques have been developed to identify genes associated with specific diseases. Society always debate over the ethics of using gene technology to treat human beings when recombinant DNA research began. Tables below show advantages, disadvantages, ethical and social of practicing gene therapy to treat genetic diseases such as Cystic Fibrosis. ADVANTAGES OF GENE THERAPY Gene therapy promotes in providing better and normal life for those who practise the therapy. (Ten Tailed Fox, 2009). The practice of gene therapy on CF patients can solve their problems by replacing none functional gene with functional one. (cited in S. Muniba, 2010) Gene therapy has high success rate compared to other methods in treating CF disease. Gene therapy helps patients to avoid from practicing unnecessary treatment and alternative which may be dangerous to them. SOURCE: http://www.biotecharticles.com/Genetics-Article/Gene-Therapy-Advantages-and- Disadvantages-271.html DISADVANTAGES OF GENE THERAPY Scientist stated that correcting the defect in people who had diseases is much harder than achieving correction in cells in the laboratory .It means that there are also numbers of trial that results in failure. (cited in Healingwell.com ) Practice of gene therapy using vector may induce immune response in the patients. The gene that is injected or sprayed into patients target cells may trigger antibodies to kill the vectors. ( cited in William, 2000).This is because virus is used as a vector to transport the therapeutic gene. The use of gene therapy in treating CF will cause in diminishing the gene pool. Their patient s next generation will have to survive with the changes in their genomes.(cited in Sade RM, Khushf G., 1998 ). Chance of inducing a tumor .If the DNA is integrated in the wrong place in the genome, for example in a tumor suppressor gene, it could induce a tumor. (cited in Healingwell.com) SOURCE: http://academicdepartments.musc.edu/humanvalues/pdf/gene-therapy.pdf In conclusion, gene therapy is a best solution in treating cystic fibrosis because it has the high chances to eliminate this genetic disorder disease. Muniba stated that gene therapy could be last cure for every genetic disease. People who take gene therapy will make up their mind if they also face with this problem because this type of treatment can be the last hope for them in treating hereditary disease like Cystic Fibrosis.Government should concerns regarding the harms that may be associated with gene therapy and the beneficial uses of gene technology are required. Analyzing of the Changes that Occurred during the 1960’s in Civil Rights Movements
To what extent did economic and political developments as well as assumptions about the nature of nature of women affect the position of American women during the period 1890-1925? In the years 1890-1925, the role of women in American society had changed politically, economically, and socially. Women were no longer considered the servant of men. She was considered an important part of society, but wasnââ¬â¢t able to lead in areas dominated by men. In this time period this is when things started to change for the women. The late 1800ââ¬â¢s saw an emergence of womenââ¬â¢s rights groups. These groups stressed that women were not only able to do skilled jobs, but capable in acquiring these positions. In the past, when had been held back by the lack of education, strength, and the amount of money in their banking account. However, women began to seeing an availability of an education, jobs, and social events. As the 1800ââ¬â¢s comes to an end ant the 1900ââ¬â¢s enter women b egan to see clearly. Then in the 1908 the Supreme Court ruled the Muller vs. Oregon case, which said that even though women were becoming better educated, they still couldnââ¬â¢t have the same treatment men did; the court also believed that women belonged at home, in a class by herself (Doc B).Throughout all these rulings, some women began to feel that society might not be the place for them. Under all that pressure, womenââ¬â¢s rights groups enhanced their campaign and pushed hard for womenââ¬â¢s rights. They were mainly focus on the need for women to vote. They stressed this because at the time women felt that voting was helpless. They supposed they lived in a society that needed them to only serve men and bear children. The womenââ¬â¢s rights groups changed that though by pushing women to get jobs to support their families and nation and also vote for understanding politicians. After a good period of time, the women of this country began to fight back. They started fig hting back by getting jobs hat paid off and by voting. Afterà women were held back by society, women won the battle for social equality. In 1923, the Supreme Court ruled Adkins vs. Childrenââ¬â¢s Hospital that there previous ruling in the Muller case was wrong (Doc J). That court had also say that from 1908-1923 the status of women had almost been changed completely.A womenââ¬â¢s movement occurred during 1890-1925. It began with women were entering the personnel for their right to work. It continued with involvement of middle class women in social issues and continued with the new workers during the World War I. It ended with economically independent women during the noisy 20ââ¬â¢s. Economic opportunities opened the chance for women to become politically active and change how America views women. As the position of women increased so did their income.

An Eastern Air Lines Lockheed L-1011 crashed at 2342 Eastern Standard Time, December 29, 1972, approximately 18 miles west-northwest of Miami International Airport, Miami, Florida. The air- craft was destroyed. There were 163 passengers and a crew of 13 aboard the aircraft; 94 passengers and 5 crewmembers died. All other occupants received injuries, which ranged in severity from minor to critical. It was a normal flight until the approach to Miami International and the landing gear handle was placed in the down position during the preparation for landing. The green light, which would have indicated to the flight crew that the nose landing gear was fully extended and locked, failed to illuminate. The captain recycled the landing gear a few times, but the green light still failed to light. The crew called for clearance and climbed to 2,000 feet mean sea level and followed a clearance to proceed west from the airport at that altitude. During this time, the crew became focused on correcting the malfunction and to determine whether or not the nose landing gear was extended and locked. At 2335:09, EAL 401 contacted MIA approach control and reported, ââ¬Å"All right, ah, approach control, Eastern four zero one, weââ¬â¢re right over the airport here and climbing to two thousand feet, in fact, weââ¬â¢ve just reached two thousand feet and weââ¬â¢ve got to get a green light on our nose gear. ââ¬Å"(NTSB, 1974) The second officer was finally able to remove the nose gear light housing but was unable toShow MoreRelated Eastern Flight 401 Essay example2733 Words à |à 11 PagesEastern Flight 401 An Eastern Air Lines Lockheed L-1011 crashed at 2342 eastern standard time, December 29, 1972, 18.7 miles west-northwest of Miami International Airport, Miami, Florida.
